Day 01 Trial
[Afternoon is here, and the time has come. We must gather at the temple to enact our solemn duty. There are tears in the Shimmering Lady's eyes as she addresses the group.]
This is something we must do together. Please discuss among yourselves who you believe to be a Demon. Each villager has one vote, and when the trial is over, I'd like you all to close your eyes and concentrate on your choice. If you are not certain, then you may select "no one." But if someone is chosen...
I shall take it from there.

It may be uncouth to say so, but acting on the note really is in our best interests, and this is why - if we execute the guilty, obviously the demons are one down. If we execute an innocent person...that will be both a tragedy and a great loss to the community, the militia in particular. But any further...visions, let's call them, will be uncomplicated. We won't have to doubt the Seer's word, and perhaps more importantly, the Seer won't have to doubt themselves.

I wonder where this "Seer" got the impression that they would know whether we killed an innocent person or not? Do they expect them to burst into flame on contact? That's one hell of a guess.

So tell me. Would the demons be down one member if we destroy him, or would they be down two?

I'm not even suggesting that we may be down a demon in choosing you, whether you're possessed or not, am I? You've been permitted here, and so you deserve the chance to be left in peace.

But, as I'm saying in regards to Ling's innocence, that has no basis, and shouldn't be acted on without more. And at the very least, more guarantee it will even help us in some way.

There's a reason he's so certain.]

I have spoken to Ling, and I think he should have a chance to prove his devotion. Should he fail, we can make a far more informed decision.

Or, if providing a task would prove too burdensome for the Lady, we can avoid troubling her by creating one of our own.
