[Afternoon is here, and the time has come. We must gather at the temple to enact our solemn duty. There are tears in the Shimmering Lady's eyes as she addresses the group.]

This is something we must do together. Please discuss among yourselves who you believe to be a Demon. Each villager has one vote, and when the trial is over, I'd like you all to close your eyes and concentrate on your choice. If you are not certain, then you may select "no one." But if someone is chosen...

Yet we cannot know for certain if they are Soulmates. My father and I were not.

But it is a real possibility. We can't be certain that they're innocent if their defense doesn't hold up!

What do you think the Archdemon is going to do with their unique ability? It means nothing if the Seers don't investigate them. So they're likely going to try to get the Seers to focus on them and gain their confidence!

Please allow me to interject. I feel no need to hide it: Bulat and I are joined by more than just the bonds of marriage. But I believe you have mistaken my reasoning in asking the Seers to investigate us. I have no interest in verifying an innocence I already believe is clear; instead I wish to ease the burden of the Seers by giving them a way to know how to interpret their visions without risking any innocent lives.

And as one of the Seers in question, allow me to ask you this -

Presumably one of us will come back with a vision of you being guilty; the other will perceive you as innocent.

What is preventing you from claiming the one seeing you as innocent is the genuine Seer, regardless of whether you are or not?

The one who sees us as innocent should be the one with sincere visions, there is nothing to prevent. The only way it would be otherwise is if we are Sinners, and while I do not like that chance, it is still much better odds than relying on your single dream.

Demons would claim the one to perceive them as innocent is genuine, whether they are or not.

I misunderstand nothing. I do not acknowledge the possibility that we could be demons, because I know that possibility does not exist. Whether you trust that fact or not, the truth is simply that we are innocent.

I'm questioning your repeated interpretation of The Lady's word to suit your own validation and gain the trust of the Seers!

Maybe The Lady will clarify her words for us, but even if she decides not to respond, I still don't believe that simply being on the night watch protected you from possession as you keep claiming it did.

You should know that if you and Mr. Bulat happened to be the Archdemon, it would be an all-too-easy trap to lay out.

...If we are possessed by the Archdemon, then the end result is the same, and the Seers being confirmed is only a disadvantage to the demons as a whole. If you must argue such a point, please at least claim we are regular demons trying to pass ourselves off as Sinners.

It sounds like the only way the Seers are getting an unquestionable confirmation is if someone they investigated is lost, or if one of the Seers is lost. ...Unless the Prophet asks a really specific question out in the open.

Eventually we will have to take a risk and execute one of the accused, likely as early as tomorrow. I am simply trying to increase our chances of choosing the correct one.

Then how can we trust the word of the Seers at all, if there are so many factors that call what they see into question? Getting enough information to find even the first demon could take days...

Because the Seers can give us the best chance at justice that we have, once they know what their visions mean! Without them, the demons have an advantage. They know which side everyone is on, and everyone else is in the dark.

...Although after speaking to Mr. Kimblee, I really doubt that he's one of the Seers!
